Burger King, often shortened to its acronym BK, is a large fastfood restaurant chain with over 13,000 outlets across 88 countries, two thirds of them in the USA and a significant proportion in Canada. The chain’s first restaurant opened in Miami on 4 December 1954 under the name of Insta Burger King.
