With health and wellness at the core of the company, it was important to design a space that created a lifestyle within in a workplace. A clean, airy and open reception welcomes visitors and leads into the triple-volume canteen/pause area – a multi-use space which doubles up as an area in which staff are encouraged to work, have informal meetings and collaborate. Just off the canteen is a coffee shop where staff members or visitors can buy a cup of coffee, a healthy snack or lunch.

Leading on from the reception area, the meeting wing reflects the diversity of the company through the different brands under Ascendis Health. Rooms are allocated to each brand, each with their own branding or a different colour with a big emphasis on graphic wallpaper design. Vibrant colours add to the excitement and energy of the space.

On the first floor is an almost-completely open plan space, broken up by pockets of closed offices, meeting rooms, huddle rooms and pause areas. One of the challenges in this project was to move away from the old traditional closed offices while still keeping the managers in a semi-private space. Tétris achieved this by creating half-height walls topped with a glass screen or planter boxes for maximum privacy in an open plan space. The planter boxes are also aligned with current office design trends, incorporating fresh plants into an office space, allowing maximum oxygen intake and staff wellbeing.

A racetrack detail in the carpet runs around the entire floor. This encourages staff to go for a walk around the track, increasing the amount of exercise done in a day. It also encourages them to socialise and build good relationships within their working environment. Overall, the work spaces reflect the diversity and dynamism of the company, emphasising the importance of health and wellness.
